Carey was once a popular fashion model. She stands almost 5'10" tall and was popular among top American fashion designers like Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren as well as others. In 1979, the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists named her father Scientist of The Year. Carey was educated across the globe due to the work of her father. When she finished her studies at the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs, she started to do modeling as a side. It caught the attention of an agent at Ford Model Agency New York. Her move to France in 1980 and lived briefly in Paris as well as Bordeaux before deciding to return to New York to continue with her education at college and build a modeling career. Soon, she was appearing on the covers of Vogue, Glamour, etc. She studied full-time in New York University, obtaining her degree in literature in between assignments as a model. Then she became interested in acting and started studying in the Neighborhood Playhouse of New York. Her acting debut came by playing a minor role in 'Club Paradise" in 1986, starring Robin Williams. In her spare time she loves skiing or windsurfing. She also enjoys climbing mountains as well as whitewater kayaking.
